Today is the last day I will write about my fasting trip. The goal is achieved and I am going back to normal. Normal after fasting means for me a few more weeks very careful eating and drinking. Just for keeping my achievements a bit longer.
Sadly, with the medical politics here in Uruguay I have no chance to get a blood test on my own. Somewhere else, when I was on fasting, I always had a test before fasting and one afterwards. These blood tests show best how successful fasting is.
My weight this morning, steady 107 kg (236 p). My feelings are very good, motivated, active and no „little shitty problems“ at all. The good fun is concentrating on the meals with appropriate preparation and celebration. Anna likes this „build up“ phase also, she is eating the same food and it does her well too. Good partnership.
My second build-up day.
Breakfast.
This morning, my plums again. Then 2 slices of WASA with Queso Blanco (curd – Quark) and chopped Rucola (arugola) as well as a slice of tomato. All followed by some fresh fruit.
Important also this morning was the first normal excretion after fasten breaking. This is the best sign that the switch from energy programs is fulfilled. If this is not coming automatically, despite the plums in the morning, one must help the bowel to work properly. Therefore the easiest and I think best way to do, is drinking a glass of „Sauerkraut“ juice. The bowel MUST WORK at least the third day after fast-break !
Lunch.
This meal is the first baked (browned) meal, instead just cooked. That means from tomorrow on I will have all I want to. But for a few month we will insert every week a day to break the „normal“. It can be a fruit-day, a rice-day, a raw food day or similar.
My lunch, a full satisfying meal.
Lunch today was cooked potato slices slightly baked in olive oil and carrot slices baked in olive oil with some Mediterranean herb mixture and sprigs of thyme. Also yogurt. As desert we had half of an ripe apple. A delicious full and satisfying meal.
Dinner.
Big plate of mixed leaf salad, combined with WASA crispbread. Not much to say about. That’s just delicious and filling for the night. I like the WASA bread very much and it will be part of my meals almost every day now.
And my dinner, large salad plate and WASA.
Some „Eat Well“ information.

For many years very well known and used as a guideline is this „healthy eating pyramid“. Click on pic !
A healthy diet is a component of a lifestyle health promoter. A balanced diet influences the physical and mental well-being and helps prevent diseases.
The recommendations of the healthy eating pyramid are aimed at adults. Certain age groups and specific populations (e.g. Children, pregnant women, elite athletes), as well as the sick or those who want to lose weight, people need different recommendations. The healthy eating pyramid shows a balanced diet that ensures an adequate intake of energy.
Try this, WASA, goatcheese with a bit honey and apple.
When selecting foods, preference is given to seasonal and regional products. In the kitchen, it is best to prepare the best food preserving their nutrients. It is also recommended choosing an iodine and fluoride salt and use it sparingly, as the broth, soy sauce etc. We are spoiled here with our organic farm where we can get the right greens.
The meals are not only used to provide the body with energy and nutrients it needs. They are also a source of pleasure, relaxation and exchange social. Take time to eat and drink slowly, stopping any additional activity increases the pleasure and the joy of eating. All my recipes in this blog are suggested to made as best from the best.
I believe that we can eat all and everything (as long as we are normal healthy people) as long as we do it INTELLIGENT !! Even a heavy grilled Pork Knuckle (see my post Bierhaxn) is o.k. if you have the consequence to „relax“ your body a few days afterwards.
Apart from a balanced diet, the following factors promote a healthy lifestyle:
– Move at least half hour a day.
– Go out every day in the open air.
– Provide regular breaks and relax.
– Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol in excess.
The habits do not change from one day to another. To evolve towards a healthy lifestyle, it can be helpful to set small realistic goals and achieve them gradually. Small changes can already contribute to improve the well-being.
There are several and different healthy eating pyramid’s, for example :
The American recommendations, a „Mediterranean“ healthy eating pyramid.
The healthy eating pyramid of the School of Public Health Harvard.
The healthy eating Pyramid of the „glycemic index“ developed by Dr. David Ludwig.
Click on pic to see the chart sized up.
This index shows lower or higher glycemic for some basic foods.
High GI Foods = GI of 70+ (Try to avoid.)
Medium GI = 55 – 69 (use caution.)
Low GI = 0 – 54 (This is your target zone, look for foods with a low GI score)
It is recommended to find your own, personal way to eat and live healthy. At least
DO WHAT YOU LIKE TO DO !
I like a mix of all such information’s, not being bureaucratic and do all what everyone says.
Different kinds of presentation. Just click on pictures to supersize the charts.
That’s all what needs to say about my fasting experience this time. From next Wednesday on, I will go back to my normal mixed posts. All what I have in my mind, what I think it is interesting and what I like. Of course with research, backgrounds and history. Accompanied with many pictures to keep it interesting.
